Hitfix’s Donna Dickens swore off the show, as did the recapping crew at Vox’s sister site the Verge. Vulture’s Matt Zoller Seitz offered a long disquisition on the emptiness of the show’s violence. The deaths of two long-running characters in The Walking Dead’ s season seven premiere, " The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be," have prompted even more of a critical pushback against the show than usual - which is saying something. ![]()
